“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.”

Ralph Waldo Emerson

A taste of the wisdom of Ralph Waldo Emerson.  I’ve had many days like this and I’m happy to say that I can put yesterday behind me and move forward with every new day.  As a caretaker for my 82 year old mother and my 87 year old father, Emerson’s wisdom is a tender reminder that each day is new and an opportunity to put the past in a trunk and lock it away.  Only hang on to the good memories of the past.  Life is too short.
